WHAT IS AWANA? Awana is a Bible club for young people, three years old through sixth grade. It is centered around the Word of God. AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed”. The objective is to reach as many young people as possible with the Gospel of Christ, and give them the opportunity to accept Christ as their Savior.
WHEN ARE CLUB MEETINGS? Awana club meetings are on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:15 PM. During the winter, we will not have Awana if McCracken County Schools are closed due to bad weather.
DROP OFF AND DISMISSALS: Please drop off your child at the Family Life Center (located behind the church) and pick up your child in their Awana classroom. We will begin opening flag ceremony promptly at 6:30 PM, so please try to have your child at the Family Life Center no later than 6:25 PM.
WHY ARE THERE UNIFORMS? Uniforms are to display a clubber’s awards in order to show their progress. All clubbers should be in their proper uniform at each meeting. Vests and shirts must be buttoned. A comfortable type of pants or shorts is requested to be worn because of game time. Non-maring Tennis shoes are the best type of shoe to wear because of game time.
WHAT ABOUT AWARDS? Each Awana member has the opportunity to earn exciting awards. These awards are worn on the uniform. Ribbons, plaques, and trophies are also given for completion of handbooks. Each child is allowed to work at his or her own pace. Awards represent good achievement and spiritual growth in the knowledge of God’s Word. We encourage all children to strive for their highest potential.
All clubbers must be in uniform to receive awards.
