After an overwhelming majority vote the congregation affirmed James "Jim" Wright as our Interim Teaching Pastor.
As of January 1st and for the extended period he will be handling all the teaching roles on Sunday's and Wednesday's. On Sunday we are studying the book of Nehemiah and on Wednesday nights we are learning about the heart of a shepherd. The Wednesday night study will help the church identify their next pastor when the Lord reveals him to them.
Continue to check back as we update the search committee's progress.

• The November schedule will include:
Tim Cole and Jim Wright as guest speakers November 6 and 13, respectively
* Holy Communion being served during the morning service on November 20.
• The December schedule includes:
Jun Rodrigo December 4 during the morning service with the Children’s Christmas Program the evening
* The Adult Christmas Program will be held during the morning service on December 11 and Holy Communion that evening.
* The Christmas Day service starting at 10 am with Holy Communion, no Sunday School and evening service

Jim Wright will be our guest speaker for the Sunday morning service.
Jim is Director of Pastoral Care at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah
and is a graduate of Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
For our PM service we invite all our church family to join us at Noble Park at 5pm for
music and a devotion time followed by lots of watermellon and fellowship.
From 6pm-8pm the pool will be avaliable for us to use.

Dr. Larry Orange -- Sunday Morning
Dr. Larry Orange is Dean of the Bible College at Mid-Continent University in Mayfield where he has served for the past 14 years. Besides his work at the university Dr. Orange is involved in church planting and missions work. He is married and has 3 children, and 11 grand children.
Joe Thorn -- Sunday Evening
Joe Thorn is Pastor of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Benton, KY where he has faithfully served the past 8 years.

Mark & Karen Welch are the founding pastors of New Life Church in Murray -celebrating its 24th anniversary this summer. Karen is the manager of New Life Christian Bookstore, an outreach ministry of the church, and Mark is Director of Community Relations at Murray State University. They have two sons, Marshall and Luke, and are actively involved in the Purchase Area Walk to Emmaus & Chrysalis Communities.

Kenny Locke currently serves Pleasant Valley and Shady Grove extended ministries of the United Methodist Church. Kenny has served in the UMC for the past 20 years. In addition Kenny has been actively involved in the Purchase Area Walk to Emmaus.

On Sunday July 10 an election was held before the evening worship service to establish a search committee to begin looking for the new pastor of Gospel Mission. The results of the election were as follows:
Carlos Young, Terry Moore, Donnie Travis, Everette Qualls, Kathie Brooks, Amy Dotson, and Carol Watson.
Alternates are Johann LeClaire, Rodger Carroll, Linda Jenkins
